The goal of TEAL is to increase students' access to the arts by expanding K-6 teachers' capacity to provide culturally relevant, integrated arts instruction which centers on social emotional learning (SEL), for all students.
TEAL helps educators build the knowledge and skills to embed the Arts into classroom curriculum particularly supporting teachers, administrators, psychologists, counselors, MTSS/PBIS Staff, and expanded learning staff.

Dotti Ysais is the Project Director III for the LA County Office of Education's Center for Distance and Online Learning (LACOE-CDOL). Under her leadership, CDOL has provided blended and online professional development for faculty and administrators throughout the LA County School Districts, specifically TEAL. In addition to Dotti, both LACOE-CDOL Coordinators Jennifer Mataele and Shan Tu co-lead the TEAL project.
Dr. Marc Brackett, is the Founder and Director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence and a Professor in the Child Study Center of Yale University. He is the lead developer of RULER, an evidence-based approach to social emotional learning that has been adopted by nearly 2,000 Pre-K through high schools across the United States and in other countries. He is also the author of Permission to Feel and his mission is to have everyone "become an emotion scientist."
Directing Change's mission is to educate young people about critical health topics through the medium of film and promote social justice by changing conversations in schools and communities.
Kimberli Breen is a Behavior Change Agent affiliated with the University of Kansas SWIFT Center, KOI Education and Affecting Behavior Change Inc. She supports the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) and it connection to culturally responsive arts, social emotional learning (SEL), and unconscious bias components with the TEAL Project. Peggy Burt, founder of Mindful Strategies Inc., focuses on strategic arts instruction and mindful strategies to support student social emotional well-being. She is known for her work in facilitation of strategic arts planning with school districts and county offices across the state.
Conga Kids' mission is to promote social and emotional wellness through social dance. They continue to pursue progressive curricular shifts, infusing anti-racist and equity-centered practices within their curriculum to better support the social-and-emotional needs of our Black, Indigenous, and LatinX students and families, including students with disabilities.
Kellen is an actor, singer, and teaching artist. As a theater teaching artist, Kellen has worked with organizations around the country including the New York theatre workshop, Seattle Children's Theatre, the Pasadena Playhouse. Her specialty helps to support mental health and wellness of youth through the intentional weaving of inclusive social emotional learning into the theater-making process.
24th STreet Theatre is led by Jay McAdams, Executive Director, and Debbie Devine, Artistic Director. Their mission is to engage, educate, and provoke young people and their families with excellent theatre and arts education.
Both Andrew Grueschow and Leeav Sofer are the TEAL music integration specialists and have extensive backgrounds in music. Andrew specializes in musical percussion, and Leeav in vocal music.
